What Are Lip Fillers

Ageing naturally causes your lips to become thinner and lose definition. Where you’re likely to notice it most is around ‘Cupid’s Bow’ – the V-shaped area of your upper lip. You may have used make-up to disguise things, but it can bleed down the vertical wrinkles and actually highlight the problem.

Lips are sensitive, therefore a local anaesthetic is first applied to the lips to ensure the area is numb. Lip fillers are then very carefully injected into the area required to give you more natural fuller lips.

The lip filler used is specifically designed to restore natural fullness and create beautifully shaped lips.

How Do They Work?

Lip fillers (or injections) can be used to give you youthful looking, plump lips, especially effective for women with naturally thin or thinning lips.

  • A more defined smile
  • Can help turn the corners of the mouth upwards
  • Give lips a more youthful looking appearance
  • Thinning lips appear more fuller
Recovery & Results

Afterwards, there might be a small amount of swelling which will quickly subside. Depending on the area treated, it usually takes no longer than 30 minutes and you can leave the clinic as soon as you are ready to do so.

All we ask is that you do not drink alcohol before your treatment and refrain from taking anti-inflammatory medication and see guidance if you take blood thinning medication.

No recovery time is required after dermal filler treatment and you can return to day to day activities straight away. You may experience some slight swelling or bruising to the area being injected and typically doesn’t last longer than 48 hours. Your aesthetician will discuss your recovery and what to expect when you attend you appointment.
